Crossing the Pond

Saturday was a LONG day for the 4 of us. At 9:30am Jakarta time we left our house, swung by Dunkin Donuts, and headed up to the airport for our long flight home. 24 hours later we arrived at 1056 Metro Circle in Palo Alto for our Christmas visit. An arduous journey.... but well worth it!

With a mug like Jakes --- how can you not want to kiss him?

5 1/2 hours Jakarta to Taipei.... 11 hours Taipei to SFO and we were ready to go!

Happy Birthday Bella!

Today is Bella's 4th Birthday! Our 'little kid' has officially declared she is now a 'big kid.'

This morning Bella found this sign posted on our front door.

We had a small party for Bella in her class.

Bella smiles as the kids in her class get ready to sing her "Happy Birthday"

It was smiles all around as the little ones attacked their cupcakes --- all baked by Icha!

Icha and Little Jake were on hand for the fun. Jake opted for a bottle rather than a cupcake for his snack.

Little Jake Turns Two!

Yesterday Jake turned 2 months old! The little guy is growing up.... and showing that he is a chip off the old block: he's still sporting his Daddy's hairstyle!

The 'receding hairline' look is all the rage with the 3 month and younger crowd!

Just like Bella when she was his age -- Jake shows off his "Old Man Murnane" face.

Our little guy gets ready for his daily bath!

Bedtime for Bella!

Everynight at 6:30pm Mark takes Bella upstairs to 'get ready for bed.' We begin our nightly ritual in the bathroom where Bella 'makes a cake for mommy' using tap water, handsoap and tootpaste.

Bella gets ready for the 21st Century by learning how to multi-task: mixing a 'cake' and brushing her teeth at the same time!

After the cake mix is ready... we put it in the oven.

Taking her second step to Harvard: Bella picks out a few books to read before bed.

Bella prepares to get into her new bed.

Currently we read SIX books a night! Bella says she wants ten... but we have to have limits.

And like magic... our little energetic Bella is off to sleep!

Happy Halloween!

To celebrate Halloween today Bella came to school dressed up as "Angelina Ballerina!" Bella had a small party in her class at school and was very excited by the goings on.

Bella and Mark (in the 'pumpkin orange' shirt) smile in Bella's class before school today.

Our little ballerina all dressed up and ready to dance - a HUGE thank you to Bella's cousin Brooke for giving us the sweet ballerina outfit.

Jake took a break from all the fun to take a little nap today.... actually about ten naps!

Family Update

A lot going on for the 4 of us this week! Below is a quick update:

Jake is growing up! He still has his daddy's hair... but is getting bigger.

The little guy now sleeps up to 4 hours at a stretch!

Yesterday was Icha's 31st Birthday! Bella made her mommy a card at school.

Bella proudly shows off her card for her mommy.

Today was the official UN Day at Pattimura. The Indomurnanes pose in Mark's classroom before the festivities.

After the concert for the parents... all the kids in school had a huge parade.

UN Day at Pattimura!

Today was the first of 2 UN Days at Mark and Bella's School -- the Pattimura Campus of Jakarta International School. This morning all the kids sang and danced in a huge performance. Tomorrow the kids will do it all again... only this time the audience will be made up of all the parents! After tomorrow's show all the kids will go on a huge parade around campus and then get a chance to taste food from around the world at the UN Day Food Festival in our Cafeteria.

Before the show Bella and Mark smile

Bella proves that last year's performance at LAPP was no fluke... as she did not seem to be the least bit shy up on stage!

Our little baby is a baby no more. :-)

Jake Is Growing Up!

The newest edition to our family is nearly 4 weeks old! Little Jake is really starting to grow.... he now stays awake, eyes open, checking out the world for 15-20 minutes at a time! The rest of his days and nights are filled with lots of eating, sleeping and just a wee bit of crying.

Little Jake, bright and alert looking for his next meal.

Taking after his old man.... Jake proudly shows off his hip 'receding hairline' look

Like brother, like sister -- check out little Bella when she was 3 and half weeks old

And Baby Makes Four!

Jacob "Jake" Bima Murnane has arrived! Much to our surprise, the little guy showed up a full one week early. As things go, it was relatively quick delivery... we arrived at the hospital at 7:30pm and welcomed our son into the world at 10:36pm.

Our little pride and joy all bundled up. Just a few hours old.

Bella has been ultra excited and hyper since little Jake's arrival... she is a great big sister!

Icha smiles while little Jake takes a quick nap

Icha's mom was on hand for the festivities

Bella shows she's ready to start baby sitting.... we might head off to Bali alone next weekend! :-)

After a few days in the hospital, we brought our boy home

Since Jake came a week early, Mark's parents missed his first few days. All is well though as "Ma" and "Pa" will be arriving here in Jakarta for a few weeks next Tuesday.
