Morning Snooze

Every morning right around 5:30am Bella comes in to our room to join us in bed to have some milk before heading off to school. Invariably Jake has joined us sometime earlier in the night and Bella will often fall back asleep before Mark takes her down to the car at 6am. We took this photo a few days ago... and just had to put it on the blog!

The two little Murnanes enjoy a few more minutes of sleep before getting for a hard day of playing, hanging out with their friends, and more playing.

Jake's First Haircut!

A couple of days after we got back from Bali we took Jake to the salon for his first haircut! Things started off great... but then Jake realized what was going on... and you can see for yourself what happened.

Jake was fired up to sit in the little car.

Ok - that's enough...I'm outta of here!


Poor little guy... Icha had to jump in and hold our little boy.

Bella ignored all the ruckus and had fun riding in her own car while pretending to eat some ice cream.


When we got home, we rewarded Jake by letting him play with his new favorite toy: MONEY!

Returning Home to a Huge Surprise!

After 11 days (that went by all too quickly!) in Bali, it was time to return home to Jakarta. Upon arrival at our house we were in for a big surprise: CHRISTMAS PRESENTS from Ma and Pa. The ever so wonderful Ma & Pa had brought us a bunch of presents when they came to visit us in October and we safely hid them away from Jake and Bella until the holidays. It was a great way to officially end our trip.

Christmas in Bali pt V

On Friday we celebrated the New Year by heading back for seafood bbq at Jimbaran.

Mark first came to Bali in September of 1992... things sure have changed!


When we got back to our hotel, Jake was thoughtful enough to put on the hotel slippers all by himself.

The next day we spent a lot of time on the beach.... fortunately our hotel is right next to the water. Including a restaurant right on the sand!

Being ever the good son, Jake brings Mark his shoes.

Like father like son: Jake could spend hours playing in the sand.


At night we had dinner right on the beach... Jake and Mark smile as a huge pizza arrives!


The next day we had lunch at a restaurant complete with a stage... Bella entertained us with her Balinese dancing.

Christmas in Bali pt III

A few days later we headed over to Jimbaran Bay to meet some friends from Jakarta to swim and have dinner on the beach. Jimbaran has what are perhaps the greatest fresh fish bbq huts in the world, a very nice beach and is the place where Michele and Brett spent part of their honeymoon.

Mark and Jake smile... to the left of Mark is the famed Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay where Michele and Brett celebrated their marriage in style.


Bella enjoys playing in the water as the goes down.
