Bandung!

A few weeks back, right after we got back to Jakarta from the States, the four of us took an overnight trip down to Bandung. Famous for it's strawberry fields, shopping outlets, and large plastic balls.... Bandung did not dissappoint!

Little Ms. Bella shows off her stylish new hat and iCarly sunglasses.

A giant plastic ball floating in the water... what ever for?

The most fun you can have for $3.00!

It actually is a lot harder than it looks...

We survived... barely!

After our exploits inside the ball it was time to pick some strawberries!

Jake looks for some yummy and ripe berries.

Bella brings up her full basket to the cashier.

After a long day out on the farm the kids were ready for a bath.

Jake enjoys his dinner... a big plate of french fries!

Bella was worn out.. so she grabbed a banana and retreated to Jake's crib for the night.

The next day we even found a little outdoor arcade... complete with a car for Jake!

Bella Makes Her Interntions Clear

While we are still deciding what to do for the Christmas holidays... yesterday Bella weighed in with how she feels about things. Take a look at the video below. While she was stating her feelings... Jake was having a good time fooling around in our living room.

Learning to stand on his little truck

Jake's word for car is "she!" --- from 'taxi'

A tumble... but no worries he's a tough little guy!

What a sweet little boy.

What does Bella want to do for Christmas....? We report, you decide.

Who is this...?

Last night we heard something scurrying around behind the curtains in our bedroom.... we thought it might have been some small animal let loose in the house. Upon further investigation.... we were right!

What is that back there....?

Look out... such a serious face!

There is the smile!

After he came out from behind the curtain, Jake found a new toy to play with.

As always, our boy is a fashion icon.

First Day of Kindergarten!

Yesterday was a big milestone in the Indomurnane Family... Bella's first day of Kindergarten! The only tears shed were by mom & dad as Bella was super happy and excited to begin her new adventure.

Bella & Icha smile as Jake wonders just what is going on.

It's official: Bella is now a 'big' girl!

The morning was a bit overwhelming for Jake!

Fun Fair

More photos from the summer --- a week or so after we got to the States we went to a "Summer Fun Fair" at a nearby private school. This was serious stuff... no cake walk here! Good fun all the way around.

Monica (Auntie "Pika" to Bella and Auntie "Tata" to Jake) smiles along with Icha and the boy.

Fun in the Park

We are back in Jakarta! But below are a few more pictures from the summer of us taking advantage of the nice weather and great public parks near Ma & Pa's house:

Jake enjoys riding on a swing.

Icha pushes Bella on the 'big kid' swing.

Having fun!

Jake gets ready to go home.... actually we think this picture was taken a few weeks before the others by the looks of his hair.

Pastrami Nation

The summer of 2010 was a fantastic one for the Indomurnanes. We spent 8 wonderful weeks in the USA visiting friends, family and taking numerous trips here and there. Mark was also able to put in some significant work on one of his life long passions: finding the best pastrami sandwich in world.

Dittmer's Deli in Mountain View makes a fine sandwich. Yet was still ranked by our Pastrami expert (Mark) as #2 in the mid-peninsula.

The old stalwart.... while not quite the same as 'back in the day' -- The Village Cheese House still turns out the best pastrami sandwich in the Bay Area.

Langer's Deli of L.A. --- said to have the finest pastrami on the West Coast... and home to several "Entourage" cameos... was unfortunately missed during this research cycle. A full review will be conducted in June of 2011.

Capriotti's of Vegas... sensational hot Pastrami and swiss! Definitely the best sandwich in Sin City.

As this project's ultimate goal is to find the best Pastrami sandwich in the world, we sent our research team to where it all started: Manhattan. One such stalwart of the 'ridiculously huge pile of meat' old world style is the famous Carnegie Deli in Mid-town.

Nothing brings a smile to our staff more than 300 grams of fat on one plate.

Carnegie makes a very good sandwich... but not quite up to our world class standards. For that we headed south about 30 blocks.

The mecca of pastrami: Katz' deli on Houston and 3rd in lower Manhattan.

Katz not only has what may be the world's best pastrami... it was where this iconic moment in film history was made.

No expense was spared in sampling the culinary delights on offer around country.

World's greatest sandwich...? Entirely possible! This ongoing project is yet to be completed... but for now Katz is King.
